Chief Greg Schwab

Chief Schwab has been a student and educator of the fire services, emergency services, and emergency management since 1984. Before joining Boulder Rural, he had served as the Fire Chief in both Georgetown, California and Ketchum, Idaho. His diverse teaching includes but is not limited to: FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference), Ohio Fire Academy, El Dorado County (CA) Firefighting Academy, Blaine County (ID) Firefighter Academy, etc. Additionally, he has been published in Fire Engineering magazine. He achieved his BS in Fire Protection Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and is a graduate of DHS-FEMA’s National Emergency Management Advanced Academy (Bay Area Corhort).

When Chief Schwab is not at a fire station or regional training center, you will most likely find him on a trail somewhere in Boulder County.
